At Chessbrook, our commitment to our students extends far beyond their time with us in Year 11. Our doors remain open, offering ongoing support, advice, and guidance whenever it’s needed. The strong relationships we build often last well into adulthood, and we’re always delighted when our former students return to share their successes and celebrate their achievements with us.
We are delighted to always welcome our alumni back to Chessbrook. Each of them has a unique story, and we are immensely proud of all our former students for returning to Chessbrook to share their experiences and inspire our current students. They have spoken with such passion and enthusiasm about the importance of education and making the most of their opportunities at Chessbrook.
Our alumni have returned to Chessbrook and to our awards evening to share their experiences with parents, students, staff, and members of our Management Committee. During their speeches, they have offered valuable advice and inspiration to the students in the audience. Below are some quotes from them.
"Be proud of who you are. You've got a future to build and not people to impress. Be hungry for your dreams." — Luke
“Take it easy and slow down, life will figure itself out on its own. Your life isn't over; it's just the beginning.” — Andrew
“Keep going, life is far longer than you realise and it’s never too late. You can be whoever you want to be, and you are more powerful than you can even fathom.” — Louie
“Listen to those who are trying to support you, think big, take risks, and follow your dreams.” — Abi
“Stay open to new opportunities and remember the staff at Chessbrook are genuinely there to help.” — Tilly
“Learn from all your bad experiences and turn them into positive ones.” — Jamie
We are truly grateful to all our alumni for their continued support, generosity, and willingness to give back to the Chessbrook community. Their contributions inspire our current students to believe in themselves, aim high, and recognise that their journey doesn’t end when they leave us, it’s only just beginning.
It was lovely to have former students Holly, Abi and Jamie to Chessbrook talk at our recent careers event. They spoke to our KS4 students about the importance of making the most of the opportunities given to them and gave importance advice for their future.
We loved seeing former student Joseph back at Chessbrook! Having completed Yr 11 with us, he went onto college & now studies Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. Joseph also has ambitions to play professional rugby so we hope that aspiration comes to fruition!
