Alternative Provision Courses

Our Offer

Chessbrook ESC provides schools with access to quality alternative provision within South West Hertfordshire. We work with our providers to ensure they offer outstanding provision where students have access to accredited courses to ensure they are successful at Key Stage 4.  Alongside our Key Stage 4 programme, we run a focused programmes for Key Stage 3 students. These are in the form of 12 week courses which help re-focus, motivate and engage students in positive learning experiences. Students who access alternative provision will remain on roll at their mainstream school. During their time with us, we report on attendance (daily) and achievement (half termly). More information about what we offer can be found within our brochure which can be viewed using the link below.

Quality Assurance

As part of our service, we quality assure all of our providers to ensure they meet our high standards around safeguarding, health and safety and the courses in which they deliver. We also provide annual training to all staff who work at our provisions to ensure they have the relevant training and guidance on how to successfully work with our students. On a daily basis, our staff visits each provision to check in with the students. During this visit they will complete a short report that records what the students were learning and any action points. This information is then used to feedback to our schools so they are kept in the loop with regards to behaviour, engagement and progress.

Quality Education

Each half term, our providers are asked to complete a report on each student which is shared with the students, parents and their school. This documents what qualification the student is working towards and what they need to do in order to improve. At the end of each term, providers nominate their 'Student of the Term' for students who have gone above and beyond. Those students receive a certificate and a reward for their achievements.
